College Football Playoff: Which one-loss teams have best playoff resume?

Let’s be honest here, Ohio State hasn’t been nearly the same dominant team as they should be. They have loads of talent and NFL draft picks on both sides of the ball, yet still let their opponents hand in there.
They dropped a huge game vs. Michigan State at home, and that might just take them out of the College Football Playoffs, after being ranked in the top four since the beginning of the season.
But when you look at their schedule, they haven’t defeated a ranked opponent, nor many teams with a winning record, and their one loss was at home, to a banged up Michigan State team. For me, that’s something I can’t get behind.
