Assuming that Texas and Charlie Strong aren’t just pulling our legs, this could be a very lucrative job for Miles if offered, and he’d be silly to say no.

Miles is just the guy who could come in and convince the school to upgrade facilities (badly needed) and who would compete on a much higher level with the other Florida schools in this talent-rich state. He’d also have his contacts from the state of Georgia, where he’s done some successful recruiting while at LSU.

Al Golden brought in some decent talent, and probably could have competed in the ACC if he knew how to coach a lick. Miles could walk in with the current roster and improve the record by at least two wins, maybe more.

The Hurricanes haven’t been able to play defense to save their lives (giving up just under 30 points per game this season), and Miles could turn that around in a hurry. There’s also some untapped young defensive talent already there.

This might be a next to ideal situation for Les Miles.
