Texas A&M Football: Aggies to wear black uniforms vs LSU (Photo)

The Aggies will stroll into Baton Rouge wearing all black in what could be the final game for LSU head coach Les Miles.

According to Texas A&M’s official equipment twitter page, the team will break out the “Aggie Nights” uniforms for their upcoming game against LSU.

Texas A&M wore these uniforms for the first time this year against South Carolina, where they won in Kyler Murray’s starting debut 35-28.

You probably won’t see as much Murray this time around after Kyle Allen regained the starting job against Vanderbilt last week, however, but the Aggies will hope the “look good, play good” mantra holds serve when they head into a hostile environment in Tiger Stadium in what could be the final game for LSU head coach Les Miles.

These uniforms were originally designed to be worn for a night game on Halloween against South Carolina, but the game was bumped down to the 11 a.m. slot. Most of the fan base was disappointed, but that’s what happens when your team drops two games and their opponent’s star head coach resigns/retires in the middle of the season.

I’m excited to finally see the “Aggie Nights” under the lights. I think they look very, very clean and might just be the best alternate uniform in all of college football. The helmets are specifically unique, at first glance they look completely black, but A&M’s logo is revealed when light is shined on it.

Before 2012, A&M had never worn anything other than a combination of maroon and white, but they’ve spiced things up since joining the SEC. We’ve seen them wear a few alternate whites, blacks, American-themed, and greys, and honestly, they’ve all looked great.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin obviously made uniforms a priority, and I think they’re fun for the players and fans. They’re also a pretty good recruiting tool.
