Deshaun Watson did it. He led his No. 1 ranked Clemson Tigers to a 13-0 record, and dominated the show vs. North Carolina, totaling five touchdowns on the night.

He led two drives of 96 and 97-yard drives down for scores, and that’s a big time feat in a big time game, where North Carolina could have easily stolen this game away from the Tigers early on, and even had a chance to win it late in the game.

I think what Watson did might be enough to split some votes for first place. I think he’s been severely under appreciated in the Heisman ballot, and it might be due to some strength of schedule issues, and the fact that Alabama seems to have been must watch television this season.

If this were my vote, I would give it to Watson, simply based off his true value to this team. Quarterback is such an essential piece to college football, and if Watson were to have gone down, the Clemson Tigers would not be where they are.

He’s produced all season long, but so has Henry, and I think this might come down to a much closer race than it might appear to be.
