College Football Coaching Changes: Ranking the best hires
1. Virginia Cavaliers – Bronco Mendenhall replaces Mike London
This was a surprise because no one was linking Bronco Mendenhall to the Virginia job after Mike London resigned. But no matter how surprising it was to see him leave BYU after 11 years for Virginia, this is a tremendous hire for a program who only had one winning year under London in the last six years.
Mendenhall is a proven winner at a program that was difficult to recruit players to and his worst year in 11 seasons as a head coach was his first year at BYU when he went 6-6. Virginia would kill for a six-win season in the first year under Mendenhall who should be able to take this program to heights London wasn’t.
