5. LSU Tigers

It’s been no secret that the Tigers have been under scrutiny by fans, writers, and boosters on how little they open up the passing game.

Brandon Harris has been a serviceable starter, but if Trevor Knight were to transfer to Baton Rouge he’d have more than a fair chance of taking on that role. And he would be with a college football playoff contender, in what is considered the premier conference in the game.

Knight did already show he could beat LSU’s biggest rival, Alabama. He scorched them in the Sugar Bowl, becoming the only quarterback besides Johnny Manziel to throw for at least four touchdowns against Alabama in over a decade.

Wasn’t this one of the central reasons that Les Miles was inches away from the chopping block, because he hadn’t beaten Alabama in years? Knight could’ve played any other way if he’d faced the Tide again, but the fact he not only produced but led his team to victory in a major bowl game is more than enough reason to get in contact with the former Sooner.
