1. Oregon Ducks

Vernon Adams settled into his role as the quarterback of the Ducks quite nicely as the season wore on, but with only one game left in his college career, the Ducks have made it clear they’re searching every avenue possible for their 2016 starter.

Knight likely learned a great deal this year from new Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley, who brought along an aggressive, up-tempo spread offense to Norman. There’s only a few other schools who run such a lightning fast offense like the Sooners, and Oregon is one of them.

Knight would fit in at a lot of different schools, but Oregon is a primary fit on many levels. Besides the similar pace and formations of this offense in comparison to Oklahoma’s, the Ducks also don’t have a definitive starter for 2016. Jeff Lockie is anything but a scrub, but has played sparingly in all three years at Oregon. He knows the system well, but a slew of new recruits will be coming in for the position next year.

Above all other competition Knight could face at Oregon, freshman Travis Jonsen may be the toughest of the Eugene bunch. But even this highly touted, four-star recruit from California was likely to be fourth or fifth on the depth chart this season, so the likelihood of him jumping to the starter’s role is unlikely.

There may be several quarterbacks who could run this offense by merely managing within the system, but Knight has the most pure talent and big-game experience out of the quarterbacks he’d be in competition with. That’s more reason why he would fit well for a team that will again be a lead contender for the Pac-12 title next season.
