Watch Houston coach Tom Herman fitted for a diamond grill (Video)

Houston Cougars head coach Tom Herman lived up to his word and got fitted for a diamond grill for his teeth.

Tom Herman promised his team he would get fitted for a grill if Houston won the American Athletic Conference.

Well, Houston beat Temple to take the American and will play Florida State in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day, so Herman was put on the spot. He could get a little self-conscious, get nervous and break his promise and not get fitted for the diamond grill on his teeth or he could follow through and get “swagalicious” with the diamond grill.

Of course, there was only one choice for the first-year head coach and on Wednesday, Herman was fitted for the diamond grill and you can see video of it, courtesy Joseph Duarte who tweeted video of it all going down.

This will really endear Herman to his players and show them he can let loose and have a little fun. Further, it shows he’s a man of his word, which they already knew, but getting the grill shows a lighter side to the coach who is one of the brightest young coaches in college football.

Some coaches have helicopters, waterfalls in the locker room or otherwise fancy facilities and perks to attract recruits to campus, but no coach in American will have a diamond grill and we can only hope Herman will sport it on an in-home visit with some four and five-star recruits between now and National Signing Day.
