Big 12 Football: Each team’s MVP for 2015 season

West Virginia: RB Wendell Smallwood
Smallwood was arguably the third best back in the conference behind Samaje Perine of Oklahoma and DeAndre Washington of Texas Tech. Smallwood was the lead back of an offense that rushed for over 235 yards per game, which led the conference. He ran for 1,447 yards (second in the Big 12), nine touchdowns and averaged 6.4 yards a carry.

The 5’11” junior was named Second-Team All-Big 12 and helped West Virginia to a 7-5 record and a spot in the Cactus Bowl against Arizona State.
Smallwood is a junior and is slated to come back for his senior season. Look for him to compete for First-Team All-Big 12 honors next season.
