Texas: LB Malik Jefferson

Not too many things went right for the Longhorns this season, but they should have a lot to be excited about with freshman linebacker Malik Jefferson. Jefferson was the crown jewel of Texas’ 2015 recruiting class and he lived up to the five-star hype. He was second on the team in tackles with 61 and had seven tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Jefferson showed a great deal of promise as his play was good enough to earn the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year. He was also named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. Look for Jefferson to continue to shine and to be one of the best players in the Big 12 over the next three seasons, or until he declares for the NFL Draft.
