Gildan New Mexico Bowl
Arizona vs. New Mexico
Albuquerque | University Stadium
Dec. 19, 2 p.m. on ESPN

A disappointing end to the season for Arizona, and a chance for a “home” bowl game for the Lobos.

Although this one may look like a laugher or an early-season warmup game for the Wildcats at first glance, make no mistake, New Mexico will be prepared for this game.

Arizona finished the season 19th in the nation in scoring offense., putting up 36.8 points per game The Lobos finished 64th in scoring defense, giving up 27 points per game in the Mountain West Conference. That alone is an indicator that it could be a long afternoon for the hometown team.

However, Arizona’s defense has not played well this season, and they were particularly awful against the pass giving up 274.8 passing yards per game. The Lobos did average just under 30 points per game, using primarily the run as their weapon. We might have a shootout on our hands .

Line: Arizona, -9.5

This one will be for pride on both sidelines. The Lobos might not be able to pull off the upset, but they should beat any spread larger than 7.
