Brandon Doughty left a huge legacy at Western Kentucky and will be tough to replace. He finished with 5,055 passing yards and 48 touchdowns to lead the nation in both stats and his 9.4 yards-per-attempt was 9.4 was tied for third.

WKU lost a close one to Indiana early in the season, and then put up a fight at LSU. There were a couple close wins, but WKU was able to dominate most of their schedule. Doughty gets most of the praise, but the defense had a solid effort, coming up fifth in the nation in takeaways.

Western Kentucky capped off 2015 with 12 wins by defeating South Florida 45-35, where Doughty put up 461 passing yards and three touchdowns, and Anthony Wales added 105 rushing yards and two rushing scores. WKU finished just a hair ahead of Navy here in the final group of five rankings.
