Group of Five Power Rankings: Houston clear choice for No. 1
Temple had a tremendous start to the 2015 season. The Owls handily defeated Penn State to start off and built a seven-game winning streak. Then they suffered their first loss against Notre Dame in a close contest. Temple went 3-3 in their final six games, but the season was good overall, despite the letdown at the end of the year. The team reached 10 wins for the second time in program history.
Temple had an okay performance against the Toledo Rockets, but Toledo pulled away later in the game. Phillip Ely had a tremendous game for Toledo, throwing for 285 yards and two touchdowns. P.J. Walker had an average performance, but the Owls needed more from him to come up with the win. Temple also didn’t get much by the way of ground production.
It’ll be a challenge in 2016 for Temple to exceed what they’ve accomplished this year, but don’t be surprised to see them in the mix again for their division.
