Group of Five Power Rankings: Houston clear choice for No. 1
Boise State had a mix of glory and adversity this season. A good season opener against former head Coach Chris Petersen and the Washington Huskies kicked off the season the right way. A road trip to BYU fell short in week two, but the Broncos came strong in the next month before Utah State put the hammer down with a big victory.
Near the end of the season, the Broncos experienced two losses they may have been the biggest since they occurred at Boise’s home turf in Albertsons Stadium. Air Force and New Mexico each had strong rushing performances to win back to back games and put an end to the Bronco’s Mountain West Conference Title hopes for the season.
In the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl the Broncos had their best game of the year, holding Northern Illinois to just 33 total yards and putting up 654 yards. The Broncos will need to rebuild parts of their defense, but the offense looks to remain mostly intact, so don’t write off the Broncos in 2016.
As for the 2015 season, we saw several bright spots, but perhaps most notably with the development of freshman quarterback Brett Rypien.
