Group of Five Power Rankings: Houston clear choice for No. 1
Toledo started the season strong, beating Arkansas and winning seven games in a row. After a loss to NIU and close calls immediately after, Toledo looked like it was going to tip over, but the Rockets reached their tenth win and finished strong against the Temple Owls.
Toledo scored 20 points in the fourth against Temple, but that ended up being more than enough to finish the day with a win. It’s the first win for head coach Jason Candle at Toledo, who just took over after Matt Campbell left for Iowa State. Repeating this year’s success won’t be easy next year, as quarterback Phillip Ely and other seniors will move on.
