13. Trayvon Mullen

  • Location/High School: Coconut Creek, FL/ Pompano Beach
  • 247Sports Composite Rank: No. 31
  • 247Sports Position Rank: No. 5 CB

LSU is the frontrunner for Mullen, which is quite the achievement when you consider that he had 47 total offers on the table. Also in the mix are Florida State and LSU, and while Florida State may be interested in him as well, they seem to be a distant second. Barring any major change, he should select the LSU cap come Signing Day.

The Tigers have a loaded 2016 class including two talented cornerbacks in five-star commit Saivion Smith (IMG Academy. Bradenton FL) and four-star commit Andraez Williams ( Shreveport. LA. Calvary Baptist Academy), speaking to the level of talent at the position. Mullen’s athleticism would be a tremendous asset to LSU. At 6-foot-1 and with above-average speed, he would match up very well with a slower wideout or tight end. He would give LSU tremendous coverage flexibility and versatility to put them where they see fit.

For years, LSU has failed to win a major postseason game. With the No. 1 class nationally, a commit from Mullen may put LSU over the top.

Prediction: LSU
