It looks to be a Lone Star State battle for McCulloch as Texas and Texas A&M are both on his radar. The Longhorns may have an edge here as all signs point to him wearing Orange and White in ’16.

The 2016 recruiting class for Texas still has a long way to go to be among the elite. Ranked at No. 35 in the country, the class ranks No. 4 in the Big 12 per the 247Sports Composite Rankings and only has one linebacker in three-star inside linebacker Demarco Boyd. Boyd, who measures in at 5-foot-11 is not exactly the biggest, so the 6-foot-2 McCulloch would add size and much-needed depth to the position.

He has the speed of a linebacker and is particularly effective when edge rushing. He gives his man fits and as long as he can find that edge, he can breeze past him and get a tackle or sack. The loss of senior Shiro Davis means that the Longhorns will have to find someone who can compensate for that with athletic playmaking and McCulloch is that guy.

Texas is another program who has struggled to reclaim past glory and McCulloch is the type of player that can help turn things around in a hurry.

Prediction: Texas
