Will Shields joins Rimington as former Nebraska offensive linemen to make this team. Shields played for the Cornhuskers from 1989-1992 and was a consensus All-American guard his senior year.

Shields also added to the program’s legacy by becoming the eighth player in Nebraska history to win the Outland Trophy. The 6-3, 315-pounder was equally dominant as a run blocker in Nebraska’s option attack and could pull, trap and move out defenders with relative ease.

His skills translated to the NFL where he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015 despite being overlooked in the draft process when he slide to the third round and pick No. 73, but the Kansas City Chiefs saw something special. He is also in the College Football Hall of Fame.
