Florida Gators

Let’s face it…things weren’t supposed to happen this fast for the Gators. Jim McElwain’s team had a lot of luck on their side in 2015, and as the Auburn Tigers have found, when you live on luck it’s going to run out sooner or later.

Florida did have a formidable defense, and they are returning a number of those players, but impact corner Vernon Hargreaves is going to be tough to replace. There will be a lot of pressure on RB Kelvin Taylor to carry this team.

The one saving grace the Gators have this year is a pretty light schedule – both non-conference and SEC – but they still won’t be able to overcome the lack of a quarterback or running game. Those miracle wins from 2015 are going to be too tough to duplicate.
