NFL Combine: Biggest winners, losers and questions left unanswered
Defensive Backs
We should see at least four cornerbacks taken in the first round with Jalen Ramsey, Vernon Hargreaves, Mackensie Alexander and Eli Apple.
Ramsey weighed in at 209 pounds and ran a 4.42 40 and had a 41.5″ vertical and a 11’3″ broad jump. The latter two tied Cal running back Daniel Lasco as the best among all Combine participants. He’s a top 3-5 pick.
Hargreaves did nothing to drop out of the top 10 and Alexander and Apple should hear their names called in the 15-25 range.

Non-first rounders helping their case at the Combine include, Auburn’s Jonathan Jones who ran the fastest 40 among the position with a 4.33 and Houston’s William Jackson III who the third fastest time among corners with a 4.37 after a standout final season with the Cougars.
At the safety position, Vonn Bell may be the first safety picked, but his Ohio State teammate Tyvis Powell was a standout in all the drills, including running a blistering 4.46 40, the second fastest time among safeties behind Clemson’s T.J. Green who ran a 4.34 and made himself some money too.
