The San Francisco passed on a quarterback out of Cal a decade ago when they took Alex Smith instead of Aaron Rodgers. They won’t pass on a local product this time around with Goff on the board at No. 7. The record-breaking quarterback had incredible production during his three years at Cal where he started since his freshman year.

He has the experience and the brains to be a quality NFL quarterback. I think he can be a Matt Ryan-type in the NFL and help bring the 49ers offense back to respectability after Colin Kaepernick lost his job and forgot how to play football without Jim Harbaugh left town.
