No. 8: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Home Games: Boston College (In Dublin, Ireland), Mercer, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Miami, Georgia Southern, Duke, Virginia
Away Games: Pitt, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgia
FCS Opponents: 1 (Mercer)

It’s hard to decide whether Georgia Tech’s 2014 or 2015 campaign was the anomaly, but given their history of bouncing back after poor seasons, you have to think the Yellow Jackets are going to be a much improved team.

The problem is that the Yellow Jackets’ schedule is pretty tough, including a trip to Ireland in the season opener against defensively rough-and-tumble Boston College. Not only will Paul Johnson’s team have some jet-lag, but they’ll likely be mending some wounds.

The other issue besides who GT plays is the travel involved in their schedule. After returning from Dublin, they’ll play four straight games at home, then spend the last half of the season traveling more than resting in Atlanta.

The Jackets may challenge for the ACC Coastal this year, but making the playoffs isn’t in the cards.
