Who replaces Derrick Henry?

It almost didn’t matter who was the quarterback for Alabama last year because Derrick Henry could carry the ball 40-plus times a game if necessary. The Heisman and the SEC single-season record holder for yards and touchdowns is no longer the crutch for Alabama to lean on so someone has to fill the prodigious void.

Alabama has a Henry clone in 6-2, 240-pound Bo Scarbrough who will get the first crack at the starting job. Behind him is 2015’s No. 1 running back recruit Damien Harris, but both should be in line for a starter’s workload. Don’t be surprised if Scarbrough and Harris both top the 800-yard mark.

True freshman B.J. Emmons was the No. 2 running back and could push for playing time but it’s likely he plays a limited role with the two experienced backs in front of him.
