Who replaces Dak Prescott?

As usual, the SEC saw a number of elite talent leave the conference and head to the NFL, but none will be tougher to replace than former Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott.

Mullen has shown the ability to lose quarterbacks and have the next guy step up and be even better than his predecessor, but that’s not going to happen this time.

Nick Fitzgerald backed up Prescott as a freshman last year and Damian Williams did it two years ago before redshirting last season. The two will battle in the spring and into the fall to see who eventually is the best option to help State win in 2016.

Both bring some intriguing qualities to the table but expecting either to do a Prescott impression this year is an impossible task. But perhaps one of them shows enough promise and potential that the offense and the team will be in good hands by 2017.
