Why it’s intriguing: Mark Richt vs. Georgia Tech

Of all the places that former Georgia head coach Mark Richt could have gone, the ACC Coastal was the last place Georgia Tech fans wanted to see him…especially in Miami.

During his 15 years at Georgia, Richt tallied a 13-2 record against the Yellow Jackets, literally owning them at both home and away venues. Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson probably isn’t looking forward to facing Richt again.

Miami has the talent, especially quarterback Brad Kaaya, to make a run in the Coastal division. Al Golden laid the groundwork, but couldn’t get the job done.

Georgia Tech is coming off an absolutely dismal season, going 1-7 in conference play after nearly winning the ACC in 2014 and upsetting the Mississippi State Rebels in the Orange Bowl.

Will Richt’s magic against Georgia Tech continue in his first ACC game? This will be fun to watch.
