Ranking the biggest quarterback busts in the history of the NFL Draft.

This is all about quarterbacks failing to meet high expectations. The quarterback has proven to be the most important position on the field, serving as a general of the offense and a leader in the locker room.

A common trend you’ll find throughout this list is the length of their career, with most typically lasting no more than five seasons. It’s a business. And to stay in business, you need to be able to win.

Now, a lot of these quarterbacks were taken early in the draft, typically going to one of the worst teams in the league. While those franchises don’t have a solid group of talent to win games, hence their draft position, the quarterback is still expected to elevate the play of his teammates.

Whether these quarterbacks just never had the proper coaching, didn’t have a great environment to learn and progress as a professional, we’ll never know for sure. After these guys failed at one spot, if they were lucky enough to find themselves another job, it was typically a backup role.

Talent at the collegiate level doesn’t always translate to the NFL and we’ve seen that before with almost every position group. But when a franchise takes a quarterback in the first round, as a top-10 pick, they’re looking for greatness.

Something to get their organization on their feet again. Sadly, no organization found what they were looking for when they took the 15 quarterbacks mentioned here.
