This might be a down year in the Pac-12 for running backs outside of Christian McCaffrey, which gives Arizona State’s junior running back DeMario Richard a chance to make a name for himself.

Arizona State has an extremely young, yet productive stable of backs. Richards has earned productive reps since he was a freshman. His birthday isn’t until December, meaning that he was still 17 years old for the majority of his freshman campaign.

Now, going into his junior year as a 19-year-old, Richard will look to continue his production. Arizona State is in the midst of a quarterback battle and doesn’t have a lot of talent on the outside to throw to. This is where Richard will come in and take a bulk of the workload for Arizona State.
