13. Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky is the best job in the SEC if we’re talking about basketball programs. But when it comes to football, the Wildcats are thankful they can always rely on Vandy to bring up the rear so they aren’t dead last.

The state of Kentucky is so focused on basketball that it is difficult to find high-end impact talent on the high school level to bring into Big Blue Nation. And the top recruits the state does produce are more likely to head to nearby Columbus to play at Ohio State or to any number of premier programs where they’ll have a chance to win and get to the NFL.

Kentucky football has shown little signs of on-field progress under Mark Stoops despite his ability to bring in some quality talent and the program has next to zero tradition since Bear Bryant left the program decades ago.
