11. Arkansas Razorbacks

One thing Arkansas has going for them is they don’t have to compete with another FBS program in the state. The program has shown the ability to win at a high level during the Bobby Petrino era, especially, and there is a stable athletic department in place with athletic director Jeff Long one of the best at his job in the country.

I think the program is stuck in the lower middle class, however, because there’s just so little wiggle room to get into the top 6-7 jobs. They don’t have a natural recruiting advantage and dipping into the state of Texas is only going to yield a few impact recruits each cycle.

It was a nice enough job to entice Bret Bielema to leave Wisconsin after three straight Rose Bowl appearances because coaching in the SEC gives you a foot in the door when it comes to cracking the College Football Playoff.
