The power ballad Purple Rain is by far the most beloved song by Prince, and it is being paid tribute to by artists all over the world in recent concerts. It’s a song about fresh starts, not giving up, and fighting for what you want.

While many teams wear purple as one of their primary colors, no team does it quite the way they do at TCU. They embrace the purple. They live purple. They breathe purple. If Prince hadn’t been such an integral part of Minnesota, he would have fit in perfectly in Fort Worth.

Always reaching out for something new, TCU has won a combined 18 conference championships in six different conferences, most recently their shared 2014 Big 12 title with Baylor. Since joining the Big 12 in 2012, Gary Patterson has had the Horned Frogs rolling and has made people fear not only the frog, but also…purple.

Few teams want to come in to Amon G. Carter Stadium and see the purple reign, but that’s what they do.
