The former five-star recruit who was arguably the best player Mark Dantonio has ever signed with the Michigan State Spartans also has a chance to be the highest drafted player to come out of East Lansing under his watch.

Malik McDowell is a huge presence in the middle of the defensive line at 6-6 and 285 pounds. He’s strong, powerful, quick, agile and can be a monster against the run and the pass.

He’s only beginning to scratch the surface when it comes to his potential and his best football is still in front of him. I’m looking for McDowell to assert himself in his junior year to see if he can be next year’s DeForest Buckner.

McDowell may be able to be an end in s 3-4 or a tackle in a 4-3.
