2. Alabama at LSU

Nov. 5 – Tiger Stadium

LSU. Alabama. Death Valley at night. how many times has this game been THE game in the SEC? Almost every year the game between LSU and Alabama decides who wins the SEC West. Alabama will be looking to stay atop the west and continue their dominance over LSU. LSU has not won this game since the “game of the century” back in 2011.

Alabama at this time in the season will have their offense figured out and most likely will be rolling through their opponents. Bo Scarbrough might be a national name and up for the Heisman for all we know, based on the track record of Alabama running backs.

If Cooper Bateman has progressed then Alabama will have a potent offense to go with the running game, due to their talented receivers and dominant offensive line. This game tends to bring out the grind it out style offense of Alabama so Scarbrough and the Tide’s stable of backs will be counted on to lead the offense in this game against a tough Tiger defensive line.

LSU will look for revenge, in particular Leonard Fournette who was held in check to the tune of 31 yards against Alabama last season. In order for Fournette to be Fournette, Brandon Harris has to to get the passing game going early in this game.

If he can spread the ball around to Malachi Dupre and Travon Dural then it will keep Alabama from loading the box with eight defenders which is what halted Fournette last season. LSU’s defense will have to contain Scarbrough and put the pressure on Bateman to make the plays necessary to win this game.

Prediction: LSU and Leonard Fournette want revenge for their thorough defeat last season to the Tide. Alabama needs a win to stay in the West division race. With this game being Death Valley, you just never know what will happen or what Les Miles will have up his sleeve. A win here and all is forgotten about Les Miles being on the hot seat.

Score: 20-13 LSU wins
