7. LSU vs. Wisconsin

Sept. 3 – Lambeau Field

Another huge SEC non-conference matchup. LSU will head to Badger country and meet Wisconsin at the home of the Green Bay Packers. LSU looks to make its way to the top of the SEC after a weird ending to their 2015 season which seemed likely to include the firing of Les Miles (which would’ve been ridiculous) but Miles ended up being retained for another year.

Miles and the Tigers will look to make a statement in the opening game. LSU should hope to showcase more balance in the offense and not just Leonard Fournette and more Leonard Fournette. Brandon Harris has to show development as a passer. LSU has weapons, Harris has to get them the ball for LSU to not only succeed against Wisconsin but for the rest of their season.

Wisconsin goes into this game as one of the top teams in the Big 10. There would be no better confidence booster for the Badgers than to knock off a top team from the SEC, something they failed to do in their game against Alabama in last season’s season opener. Wisconsin will be breaking in a new quarterback, which is not always the best thing when facing LSU’s defense.

Wisconsin’s defensive front seven returns four starters which will help in trying to contain Fournette. The defensive backfield should have a great game with Harris yet to prove he can beat teams in the passing game.

Prediction: Wisconsin might be able to keep this game interesting, but I just do not see a new quarterback and a new running back being able to systematically move the ball on the Tiger defense. LSU will run behind Leonard Fournette as they always do and he will continue to lead them to victory.

Score: 38-21 LSU wins
