Sun Belt Conference

Contenders for the Cellar: ULM Warhawks, Idaho Vandals, Texas State Bobcats

Pick For Last: Idaho Vandals

2015 Record: 4-8, 3-5 Sun Belt
2016 Prediction: 3-9, 1-7 Sun Belt

Simply put, Idaho is moving back to FCS, as well they should. This will be a lame-duck season for the Vandals, and with the schedule they’re playing this season, it looks to be a very unceremonious exit.

Idaho has been weak as an FBS school, averaging 3.7 wins during its 20-year run but only 2.9 per season since 2000. In their two seasons in the Sun Belt, the Vandals went 5-18 overall and 4-12 in conference play. In head coach Paul Petrino’s three seasons at Idaho, the Vandals are 6-39.

Idaho’s last winning season was in 2009, when they went 8-5. That isn’t changing in 2016.
