Big 12

Contenders for the Cellar: Kansas Jayhawks, Iowa State Cyclones, Baylor Bears

Pick For Last: Kansas Jayhawks

2015 Record: 0-12, 0-9 Big 12
2016 Prediction: 1-11, 0-9 Big 12

Iowa State was just bad last season; Baylor was exceptional. Now both have new coaches and may be headed in different directions this year.

Matt Campbell will lead Iowa State to a better record than 2015, and Jim Grobe is going to be struggling just to hold things together at Baylor. If it weren’t for some of the incredible talent Grobe will have left on his roster, they could be a legitimate threat to tank completely.

All that said, Kansas will remain one of the few Division 1 schools where fall weddings don’t really cause a problem. Some of the coaches in the Big 12 might be against divisions and a conference title game simply because it would mean they wouldn’t get to play Kansas every year.

The only win that looks possible is against Rhode Island, and if the Jayhawks drop that game they might as well just cancel the rest of the season.
