Lou Holtz attends RNC with Crown Royal bag (Photo)
Former college football head coach Lou Holtz was spotted carrying around a Crown Royal bag at the Republican National Convention on Monday evening.
The Republican National Convention produced some headline material on Monday night.
Among the headlines that night was Melania Trump plagiarizing passages from Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. She admitted to writing the speech herself, so the party won’t be able to throw anyone under the bus and pass the blame and no one will be fired for the egregious error.
But can we forget about politics for a moment? This is, after all, a college football website, so we have to shed light on former Arkansas, Notre Dame and South Carolina head coach and ESPN analyst, Lou Holtz who attended the event with a Crown Royal bag.
Sure, politics is enough to drive a person to drink, but did Dr. Lou really bring in a bottle of whiskey to the RNC?
Of course not.
According to Rece Davis who’s worked alongside Holtz for years at ESPN said the former national champion head coach often repurposes the bag. That’s not uncommon at all and I’ve done the same thing for years. I know plenty of golfers who use it to store their tees, among other things.
I think we’ve gotten to the bottom of this investigation. Sure, it makes for a plethora of jokes on social media as you would imagine, but now the jokes will just have to be about Holtz and what other items he repurposes around the house.

In my family, Country Crock and Cool Whip containers made for the best Tupperware and I like to think Holtz does the same.
