The Hurricanes are going to be one of the biggest turnarounds in the FBS in 2016, and Brad Kaaya could swoop in and dethrone quarterback favorites like Deshaun Watson and Baker Mayfield.

Of all the quarterbacks on this dark horse list, Miami’s Brad Kaaya is the one I see as the most likely to break out and have a really big season.

Kaaya has put up some pretty impressive numbers in two years at Miami, and that was with an inept head coach and an offensive scheme that more resembled plays drawn in the dirt on the fly, with no rhythm or cohesiveness at all.

Mark Richt may not fix everything in his first season as the Hurricanes’ head coach, but you can bet UGA’s air-conditioned doghouse that he’ll have Brad Kaaya looking like a first round draft pick this year.

Kaaya doesn’t have the biggest arm, but he’s football smart and makes good decisions (when he’s not on his back looking up at the facemask of a defensive lineman). Give him just that extra second of protection in the pocket and Kaaya will be shredding some ACC defenses.
