  • Career Stats: 6,015 passing yards, 48 TDs, 16 Ints
  • 2015 Stats: 3,700 passing yards, 36 TDs, 7 Ints

Arguably no quarterback meant more to his team in 2015 than Baker Mayfield. He transferred from Texas Tech and sat out a year and then promptly beat out incumbent Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight.

Mayfield showed poise and confidence in the pocket in his first season as the starter. Not only was Mayfield poised for the job but also displayed amazing athletic ability to propel the Sooners to the Big 12 title and a College Football Playoff berth against Clemson. Mayfield not only displayed great passing abilities but also made plenty of plays with his legs, he rushed for 405 yards and an additional seven touchdowns.

Mayfield will have three of his starting offensive lineman from last season, as well as his starting running back and one of his receivers, return from last year as well. With many of his core offensive weapons and line protection returning, Mayfield will have a chance to increase his numbers from 2015 and help lead Oklahoma back to the College Football Playoff.
