  • Last Season Record: 10-3 Overall, 6-3 Pac-12
  • Season Opener: Southern Utah | Sept. 1
  • Key Games: BYU, USC, Oregon

In recent history, Utah has had some pretty good teams. Two seasons ago, the Utes finished with nine wins, the most since joining the Pac-12 in 2010. Last year, they finished 10-3, with a win in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl.

This season, though, might not follow the trend trend.

The Utes are currently in a quarterback battle, and have yet to settle on a man to lead the offense. And that’s a big problem. In a pass-heavy league like the Pac-12, if you don’t have success in the air, you’ll lose.

Utah has struggled with that, too. Last year, they finished second to last in the league in passing offense and overall offense. Their quarterback ranked 10th in the Pac-12, and they lacked any standout receivers.

So unless the Utes can settle on a quarterback and get their offense together, this season is up in the air. But hey, it’s early. A lot can change.
