No. 7: Kansas State Wildcats

If I could have West Virginia and Kansas State in a tie, I would, but I ranked Kansas State higher simply because of strength of schedule–and those boys are in for it.

The Wildcats open the season on the road at Stanford on Sept. 2, then travel to Oklahoma on Oct. 15, followed by Baylor on Nov. 19, and TCU to finish the season on Dec. 3.

While Baylor’s depth and stability come November is perhaps, the season’s biggest wildcard, pundits all believe that Kansas State has the talent to do some damage and compete.

Bill Snyder’s team needed all hands on deck to pull off bowl eligibility last season, but unlike most teams in the conference, the Wildcats’ offense leaves a lot of questions headed into the season.

With major losses on the offensive line, an ongoing quarterback battle, and an intense schedule, Kansas State has major challenges. But if we’ve learned anything throughout the past couple of seasons, it’s not to underestimate the Wildcats–who always reach .500 on the season or higher.

Silver Lining: Field advantage, and if the Wildcats’ can pull off seven wins, Bill Snyder will have 200 career wins under his belt.
