First Overall Picks: Jameis Winston (2015)

Other Notable First Round Picks: Antonio Cromartie (2006), Sebastian Janikowski (2000), Peter Boulware (1997), Warrick Dunn (1997), Derrick Brooks (1995), Terrell Buckley (1992), Deion Sanders (1989), Bobby Butler (1981)

It’s not surprising that Florida State is on this list, however, it is a bit surprising how low they landed. With all the national championship teams and all the talent which game through during the Bobby Bowden years, it would seem there would have been more draft picks.

Beyond some of those first rounders listed above, the Seminoles have had some great names come out of the later rounds as well. Most recently, Atlanta Falcons fourth-round pick Devonta Freeman looks to be one of the big steals of the 2014 draft.

The biggest draft classes for the Seminoles came in 2015 and 2013, both years sending 11 players on to the NFL.

One of the biggest first round busts in FSU history would have to be defensive end Derrick Alexander, who was taken with the 11th overall pick in 1995, and played very brief and uneventful five-year NFL career.
