Number 10. South Carolina

Week 1 result: (1-0) 13-10 Win against Vanderbilt

The showcase of SEC East bottom feeders was quite the intriguing game as the Gamecocks were shut out in the first half but came back to beat Vanderbilt and get Will Muschamp his first win as Head Coach at South Carolina.

Is South Carolina a good team? Not sure. The offense was playing a pretty good defense in Vanderbilt. The offensive number were good, not great and the Gamecocks did have two turnovers. The defense did a great job of adjusting in the second half and completely shut down Vanderbilt’s offense.

It will take more than this game to see where the Gamecocks are at, but they showed themselves to be a tougher and more resilient team than in 2015.

Next Game: Saturday, September 10, at Mississippi State 7:00 ET ESPN2
