College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 3

Mark Walton busted off an 80-yard touchdown run on Miami’s first offensive play of the game, and they were never in danger on their trip to Boone to face Appalachian State. The Hurricanes finished with 164 rushing yards and three touchdowns, Brad Kaaya added 368 passing yards and three more scores in the air, and the defense held the Mountaineers to 241 total yards on offense. It was a rare occurrence of a Power Five school traveling to play a Group of Five team on the road, and Miami prevented any celebrations by the home fans.
Next weekend’s ACC opener at Georgia Tech is likely to determine the direction the Coastal Division takes this season. Their schedule won’t get any easier from there, with Florida State and North Carolina coming to Tallahassee the following two weeks, but Miami can take solace from the fact that they avoid both Clemson and Louisville in the regular season.
