Week 3 result – 37-28 win over New Mexico

Well, Rutgers took on the challenge of escaping the bottom five, and they’re doing a good job within. Two wins in a row is beginning to crack open some light for the Scarlet Knights.

New Mexico is definitely better than a win over Howard, but it isn’t impressive. However, they begin conference play against Iowa in Week 4, and have the chance to really show they’re headed for a big year.

The challenge isn’t going to be easy headed into conference play. Most believe that this Rutgers team is just a bottom of the pack team once again. But they turned one win into two, and are slowly inching their way out of the last five in the Big Ten. They could be out to prove something.
