11. Florida Gators

Average Home Attendance 2006-2015: 89,248 (100.8% of capacity)
Average Season Winning Percentage: .711
Seasons Under 90% Capacity: 0
Seasons Over 100% Capacity: 7

Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, affectionately known as the Swamp by fans and foes alike, is home to some of the most ardent fans in college football. It was certainly easy for fans to attend games when Urban Meyer was leading the program to BCS championships and the Gators were perennial contenders for SEC and national honors, but even during the ups and downs of the Will Muschamp era fans continued to come out to support the orange and blue.

The Gators have not been immune to the general trend of declining attendance across the country, and already in 2016 the team has failed to sell out any of its first three home games. But in general Florida still manages to pack over 90,000 of their fans into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for the majority of their conference games and against most major opponents. The disappointments of the post-Meyer epoch in Gainesville has tempered fanaticism somewhat, but over the past decade the Swamp has been filled beyond capacity on aggregate.

The new regime under Jim McElwain was met with wide enthusiasm in 2015 as attendance went over capacity for the season. If the former Colorado State head coach can replicate Meyer’s mid-major-to-SEC formula and bring offensive football back to Gainesville the fans will only become more rabid in Gainesville.
