Florida State Seminoles at South Florida Bulls (Saturday/12:00 pm)

Louisville revealed some major cracks in the Florida State defense last Saturday, and while much of that was the work of Lamar Jackson it still showed that the Seminoles are mortal. Florida State also gave up 34 points to Ole Miss and had to engineer a comeback to win that game, and then got to play a depleted FCS team in their Louisville warmup. Dalvin Cook hasn’t been able to gain much traction on the ground, and is so far averaging 65 fewer yards per game than in 2015.

South Florida has the 31st-ranked rushing defense in the country, and they have the advantage of playing at home. The Bulls don’t have Lamar Jackson, but they do have junior quarterback Quinton Flowers. Flowers has a better stat line than Deondre Francois on the opposite sideline, and across the board the USF offense has been performing at a higher level than FSU even after accounting for discrepancies in strength of schedule. The likely end is that the Seminoles will get a big lead in front of a pro-FSU crowd, but an upset isn’t out of the realm of possibility and would have a huge impact on both teams’ seasons moving forward.
