The Clemson Tigers are second in this week’s power rankings after a strong opening victory to start their ACC schedule.

The Tigers used a 23-point first half to cruise to an easy 26-7 victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Cruise won’t be the operative word this week, as Louisville comes to town.

The Tigers defense held the Yellow Jackets to 124 total yards of offense and 11 first downs. They’ll need these kinds of numbers this week against Louisville in order to overtake the number one position or like the Seminoles, they could be an afterthought for the ACC title.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson was 32 for 48 with 304 passing yards and two touchdowns. It was a second half of management for the Tigers offense in the game. They scored just 3 points in the second half.

This Week: Louisville

The Louisville Cardinals come to Death Valley for a primetime matchup that features Heisman favorite quarterback Lamar Jackson. Clemson is 2-0 so far since their annual meetings began in 2014. Clemson’s victories have come at a combined 9 points.
