The Virginia Tech Hokies loss to Tennessee seems to have awaken a monster. The Hokies offense has scored over 40 points in their last two games and are currently the seventh team in this week’s power rankings.

The Hokies never put the win in doubt this go round, dominating the East Carolina Pirates 54-17. The defense had four sacks, a punt return for a touchdown, blocked a field goal and blocked a punt in the game.

Magic was in the air as cornerback Greg Stroman, donning Frank Beamer’s 25 jersey, ran back a punt return for 87 yards.

Quarterback Jerod Evans accounted for four touchdowns in the game. He ran for 97 yards and one score while throwing for 282 yards and three scores. Evans has thrown just one interception on the season.

Wide receiver Isaiah Ford had four catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.

This Week: Bye
