Well, Week 4 of the college football season began conference play, and the Big Ten showed who was real and who wasn’t as the competition started to heat up.

As teams like Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Wisconsin all had their first opportunities to prove they’re a team to beat in the Big Ten, some showed they’re here to compete while others fell to the hands of conference rivals.

14. Northwestern

Week 4 result – 24-13 loss to Nebraska

Northwestern finally had a game that wasn’t a blowout. Unfortunately it was still a loss, which means they aren’t moving up in the Big Ten power rankings.

The Wildcats are in a season they hope is over sooner rather than later. At 1-3, their chances of turning this season into a bowl run are nearly gone. As Big Ten play starts to unfold, Northwestern is just hoping they don’t become the “easy” game on most teams’ schedules.

It’ll be hard to move out of last place in the Big Ten power rankings moving forward. One significant win can be all the Wildcats need to jump start a terrible start to the season. But the likelihood of that happening is slim to none at this point.
