Like several other Group of Five teams in Week 4, Toledo stayed sidelined and watched the carnage fall all around. Despite losing Matt Campbell as their head coach, the Rockets have continued to look dangerous. The defense is ranked third nationally in points allowed, while the offense has the 15th best passing attack and 28th best rushing attach in FBS. Quarterback Logan Woodside has already thrown for nearly a thousand yards in just three games.

Of course, Toledo has done this against some weak competition so far. Arkansas State and Fresno State, usually respectable Group of Five schools, are currently a combined 1-7 at this point of the year. The Rockets’ other win came against FCS Maine. Next week Toledo flies to Provo to face independent BYU before beginning MAC competition. After years of coming up big early and falling short late, it still remains to be seen if Toledo can put things together for a full season.
